Our Story: Serving Cherokee Since 2004
Harmons is a woman-owned, family-run HVAC company based in Cherokee, Iowa. Owners Sara and Shawn Harmon started the business in 2004.
Shawn’s business philosophy can be summed up simply: whoever he’s working with at the moment is the most important person on his schedule. When your furnace, air conditioner, water heater, or air quality system fails, schedule service with Harmons.
Company History
Shawn Harmon’s career didn’t start in the HVAC industry. Initially, he worked as a mechanic and transitioned into heating and cooling after a family move. He then went to work for an HVAC company that encouraged him to keep building his skills.
In time, he became experienced enough to start teaching other technicians, including some who had already worked in the trade for years. At his next company, Shawn kept training technicians. He did all of this while sharpening his own approach to customer service.
Shawn eventually felt called to build a company of his own. In 2004, he and Sara founded Harmons in Cherokee. 22 years later, we still insist on offering honest, unhurried service.
